How cats celebrate Christmas… Kelly Shaw

How cats celebrate Christmas… Kelly Shaw

Winter Solstice was awesome last night.

Winter Solstice was awesome last night. Full house, awesome music, good time chatting w/ friends afterwards. Thanks for coming out, Christylee Vickers and Amos Vickers … it was great to see you and the kids there! Now to load up the car and go do it one more time for the women at the Indiana Women’s Prison. Wheeee!

Reminder!

Reminder! Saturday is our big Winter Solstice event. This is my favorite part of winter and I hope to see some of you there! https://plus.google.com/u/0/events/cni1hci65gdgn1lqmij1icnbst0

My favorite part of winter.

My favorite part of winter… I’m sure the sun would drag itself back without us, but it’s nice to feel like we’ve helped. Come join us as we sing and drum for the return of the sun! 🙂

(All-ages, pan-denominational, free, but we usually run out of space, so come early!)

Doors open at 6:30 • Ritual begins at 7:00

* Come early to ensure you get a seat in the sanctuary. Seating is on a first-come basis. *

Join us in Indianapolis to celebrate winter solstice, weaving stories, songs, and sing-alongs together in an all-ages celebration of the longest night of the year and the return of the Light.

This singing ritual is a non-denominational, family-friendly event that celebrates the return of the sun, weaving stories and songs together for a night that ranges from meditative to raucous … all of it deeply powerful and joyous. It’s more than a performance, it’s more than a worship service. It’s a feast of sound and spirit.

Stay for a fun feast afterwards. Everyone pitches in for the feast!

Bring a finger food to share while connecting with other attendees.

Volunteer to help out that evening. http://tinyurl.com/solsticesignup

This time last year, I hadn’t discovered Ingress, so it occurs to me that this is the first time I’ve had an opportunity to invite my Ingress friends to my favorite WinterThing event… Winter Solstice!! This is our 11th year of putting on Indy’s only public Winter Solstice ritual, and it rocks. Music… drums (lots of drums)… candles (but not too many… we almost set the place on fire the first year. We learned from that.)… more music. Food afterwards!! There’s even a portal, but please, no firefights during the service. 😛 (NOTE: This is family-friendly, pan-denominational, open to everyone. No charge, but we do issue wristbands because it fills up and we went over fire code the first year , so come early!)
