Fonts are becoming (who am I kidding.

Fonts are becoming (who am I kidding… have become) the bane of my existence. I’m starting to think we should go back to using Helvetica and Times for everything. Bah humbug!

    I agree with John. The people who decry Comic Sans have one — maybe only one — thing in common with the people who decry same-sex marriage; they’ve never come up with a good reason why.

    I agree Debbie. Not having to deal with Font licensing on a daily basis is reason #153 of why I love my new job. (Don’t think that because it’s #153 that it’s not a big deal. There are just LOTS of reasons I love my new job) 🙂

That’s fabulous! Poor Clint is getting a crash course in Font Stuff. Pity him. And Mr. Mitchell… I have no beef w/ Comic Sans when used for comics or for other lighthearted content. It’s seeing it used for everydamnthing that gets to me. I’ve actually seen it used on a wedding invitation, which looked like it had been designed by a fourth grader.

    I always loved when Lilly required things to be in the “official Lilly font” … which was proprietary. And didn’t print correctly at first to PDF. And the newsletter I wrote and edited (which went out to all 30K Lilly employees and contractors)… was published in PDF. 🙂 They fixed it, finally, but I’ve been there. 🙂

    Colleen, if you had to manage the licensing and access to a font library that’s got over 13000 fonts in it, you might like them less.
