it's a fuzzy fuzzy world…

Pictures from Thursday’s early-morning house fire run w/ FVFD. First time since I joined the department that the pager has gone off while I was asleep. Being Not A Morning Person, I’m surprised that I found my car… much less the fire. (For those following along at home… yes, these are the photos I was desperately trying to recover from the dying flash card!)

Food… that’s what’s missing. And now I can’t decide whether to go to lunch, because it’s 2:45 and I haven’t been yet, or just to blow it off ’cause I’ll be outta here in a couple of hours and can have dinner. The impending headache is saying “Yo, go eat some protein!” so perhaps I should listen to it.

Lesson learned from this morning’s house-fire run with FVFD. Always shoot to more than one memory card. Bad cards can ruin your day. (And I had really good pictures, too… they previewed fine in the camera, but now both the camera and the laptop think the card is empty.)

Lemon bars made it to the office, and I’m wearing a black t-shirt to keep me from snacking on them before the department lunch. (Lemon bars = covered in powdered sugar = potentially messy w/ black clothes)

Two batches of lemon bars baked and cooling. Now to just remember to actually take them to the office tomorrow!!

Severe thunderstorm watch ’til 3 a.m., and the heat index is still 108 out. This could get interesting…
